It is no secret that dancers like to move. Taking an entire summer off may sound like fun, but it can be hard not to want to be in the studio working up a sweat! At the beginning of the year, we discussed setting dance goals, and here at Atlanta Dance Central, we don’t see the summer as en excuse to stop working to achieve them! That is why we have plenty of dance classes and intensives for you this summer, so you don’t get out of shape.
To kick off the summer, we have our 1 week or 2 week summer intensives. Summer intensives are a great way to dive into dance and make a lot of progress in a short amount of time. Some summer intensives are designed specifically to work on your ballet technique or your modern technique. Our summer intensives include many different styles for you to work on each day. We study ballet, modern, jazz, hip-hop, tap, choreography, improvisation, dance history, and much more! By the end of the week you will know more about dance than you ever thought you could, and you will have grown as a dancer!
Drop-in classes are another great way to make sure you are staying in shape. These classes allow you to take whatever classes fit in your busy summer schedule, as well as trying out a new class you have always wanted to take, but never had the opportunity to! We have Drop-In classes for all levels of dancers, whether you’re just starting, or you’ve been dancing for years! There are also Conditioning and Flexibility classes over the summer, just in case that is something that you have been working on to improve your overall technique.
To round off the summer we have our Ballet Intensive that will battement you back into ballet shape! In this one week you will take ballet class every day, learn ballet history, and challenge yourself with a pointe or pre-pointe class.
