Foster-Schmidt Dance Academy for Down Syndrome Workshop

June 25, 2013 / by admin / Leave a Comment

Foster Schmidt Dance PerformanceSummertime is flying by here at Atlanta Dance Central, and we are keeping our students moving!  The Foster-Schmidt Dance Academy is hosting a 3 day workshop that is open to any and all students with Down Syndrome in the Atlanta area.  Students will participate for 2 hours each day, and will work on exercises to build strength, balance, and coordination in addition to dance technique!

The Foster-Schmidt 3 day workshop also increases opportunities for social interaction and promotes awareness about the benefits of dance for all people — regardless of their abilities or disabilities. Students will get to meet new friends while learning about dance styles such as jazz, ballet, contemporary and even salsa!

The workshop will be held at Atlanta Dance Central from July 12-14. Students ages 3-7 will meet from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. each day, and students ages 8-18 will meet from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.  To register feel free to contact Atlanta Dance Central at 770-992-0170.
