VIDEO: How to Sew Your Ballet Shoes!

/ by admin / 1 Comment

Parents and students, please watch our brand new video on how to sew ballet shoes.  This is a simple process that takes less than 15 minutes and ALL students' ballet slippers are required to be sewn.

The YES List
– Sew your ballet shoes as soon as possible
– Choose a light colored thread
– Double thread and double knot to make sure stitches are secure

The NO List
– Do not tie elastics or drawstrings into bows that sit on top of the foot
– Safety pinning elastics is unacceptable and dangerous to the dancer
– Elastics should not be sewn towards the toes (they need to be attached at the highest point of the arch of the foot)

Happy Sewing!!
– Ms. Charlotte, Ms. Mary and Ms. Mary Ann
