Summer Dance Intensives and Study

/ by admin / Leave a Comment

a1-429It's January and summer seems far away.  If you're interested in attending a summer intensive, many are holding their auditions already.  Don't let the auditions sneak by!

Many large dance companies and colleges hold summer intensives for students around the nation.  When deciding which summer intensive you would like to attend, there are a few factors that can help narrow down your options.  First, choose how long of an intensive you are looking for.  Intensives can run anywhere from 1 week to several weeks.  Next decide if you would like to stay close to home or not.  Intensives are held all over the country!  If you want to visit a specific city, you can narrow your choices down that way, or you can decide that you want to stay closer to where you live.  You can find summer intensives and auditions by searching for them, or by asking your dance teacher for recommendations.

Continuing to dance throughout the summer can make a big difference in your technique and flexibility.  Your home studio may have camps or classes throughout the summer to keep you in shape, or even have their very own summer intensive.  Here at Atlanta Dance Central we offer several summer camps, intensives, and drop in classes to keep our dancers moving throughout the summer.  We have camps and classes for beginner through advanced dancers!  Register for your camps or intensives early to make sure your spot is reserved.

Calendars tend to fill up quickly, so if you're planning on auditioning for a summer intensive, attending a summer intensive, or even participating in a local camp make sure you get started soon!
