Recital Choreography Has Begun!

/ by admin / Leave a Comment

adc recital-1697smallWe're only a couple of weeks into 2016 but we're already preparing for the recital in May!  Recital choreography has begun in all of our classes.  If you haven't ever seen an Atlanta Dance Central recital before, you're in for a real treat this year.  This year's recital theme is “Live Your Dream.”  We've picked the music and started choreography to begin bringing the recital to life.

Our kinder recitals are 45 minute shows with performances by dancers ages 3 – 18.  The show is connected with a narrated story that helps bring the “Live Your Dream” theme to life.

The ADC youth show is original in that each dance genre has a theme, and all of the classes for that genre create a production of that theme.  For example, last year the hip hop theme was “superheroes.”  Between the levels we saw a production of superman, wonder woman, and minions all doing hip hop.  Each of the genre themes tie into the overall recital theme to create one cohesive show!

As of now our “Live Your Dream” theme has been selected, all of the music has been chosen, our mini youth production themes agreed upon by the faculty, and now we can say that the choreography is being taught!  This will be Atlanta Dance Central's 7th recital, and we are sure it is going to be the best recital yet!  Stay tuned for more updates about the recital throughout the spring, and be sure to “like” our facebook page to check out sneak peeks of the choreography.
