It may have been about a month ago, but we are still happy about how well this year's recital went. All of the dancers did an amazing job and there were several highlights from this year's show that made it one of the best recitals Atlanta Dance Central has had. One of the highlights was that the Foster-Schmidt Dance Academy performed in all four of our recitals. In our Youth recital, their dance, “Imagine,” followed a video that introduced the Foster-Schmidt Dance Company to our audience. The video and the dance tied together to share an important message promoting acceptance and peace.
This past weekend all of our faculty members performed in the SIDEWAYS Contemporary Dance Company ten year anniversary show. If you missed it, sections of the show are still available for view via Facebook. In the video of “Sunday: Part 1 of 2” you can see the Foster-Schmidt Dance Company in the performance that opened the show.
SIDEWAYS and FSDC have had an ongoing partnership for a couple of years now. Last June (2015) both companies took a trip together to perform on the Downtown Disney Waterfront Stage. They performed “Hero” together, a dance that touched the heart of our own ADC family at the May 2015 recital. The companies also work together to put on “Frankenstein's Frolic,” an annual Halloween performance and festival held at ADC each October.
SIDEWAYS members were excited to share the stage with the Foster-Schmidt Dance Company again this past Sunday. FSDC Company members touch the hearts of the audience and of SIDEWAYS members cheering them on from the wings. It is always heart warming to see such passionate performers dancing their hearts out , and it puts everyone in the perfect mood to start the show. We are proud of the Foster-Schmidt Dance Company for their beautiful performance, and also for spreading their message with the Roswell community. Great job dancers, we can't wait until the next time we get to see you perform!
