Aerial Silks - Atlanta Dance Central

Aerial silks are a type of aerial acrobatics performed with suspended fabric. They are a relatively new art form, beginning with circus performers in 1950s France. Since then, their popularity has soared, with silks becoming a staple of talent shows, fitness competitions, and acrobatic performances all over the world.

Since adding our aerial silks program, our dancers face the exciting challenge of showcasing their talents in a different way. Our instructors teach students how to safely execute different climbs, wraps, and drops. These routines increase strength and flexibility, helping our students excel in other styles of dance and movement. Plus, our dancers love the feeling of mastering a new skill. While stretching and strength training are great for students to work on at home, we do not recommend any kind of aerial outside a studio space with professional instructors.
