Gift Ideas for Dancers

/ by admin / Leave a Comment

FullSizeRenderThe season of gift giving is upon us!  If you are anything like me, you can think of excellent things to get people up until the moment that you need to get them a gift.  Luckily, we've come up with a list of gift ideas for the special dancer in your life.

1. Leg Warmers and Dance Warm Ups!  While we keep the studio at the ideal temperature for dancing, it can feels colder in the winter.  Leg warmers and dance warm ups are the perfect accessory for dance class and can add personality to the dress code.  You can find leg warmers at several stores, and you can find dance warm ups such as sweaters, sweat pants, or even slipper boots at your local dance store or online.

2. Cozy socks.  Cozy, soft, warm socks are the perfect gift for the dancer in your life.  Dancers need to keep their feet warm and I don't know a single dancer that doesn't like a good pair of cozy socks.  You can find them at your local drug store or superstore in all sorts of colors and styles.  I already spotted some cozy socks this season that are sparkly.  SPARKLY!

3. Private Lessons.  On a more serious note, every dancer could use some one on one attention to really hone in on their technique and assess problems they may be having in the classroom.  Purchasing gift cards for private lessons (even just 1!) from your favorite dance studio are a great way to tell dancers that you care about them and their passion.  Here at ADC we have technique private lessons in addition to ballroom private lessons for dancers of all ages.  Giving the gift of a private lesson could help with reaching New Years resolutions or achieving new goals in the classroom.

4. A Dance Themed Wall Calendar.  I've gotten a dance themed wall calendar every year for a while, and I always find a place to hang it.  I love flipping through the months and seeing such wonderful dance photography.  The “Dancers Among Us” calendar is my current favorite!

5. Gift Cards.  Gift cards seem to have a bad reputation because they aren't “personal” enough, but who doesn't like picking out their own gifts?  Get the dancer in your life a gift card from their favorite local or online dance store so they can pick out a cute new leotard or accessories.  Dancers are always looking for new music, so an iTunes gift card is a perfect gift too!

You can't go wrong with any of these dance related gift ideas.  Honorable mention ideas include a new dance bag, dance themed books, or dance artwork.  There are some great gifts out there for the dancers in your life, just make sure you pick them up before it is too late!
