Atlanta Dance Central opened it's doors five years ago, on October 1, 2009! We are excited to be celebrating our fifth birthday. To celebrate, we are collecting all of our student's fingerprints on an ADC canvas this week, and we are also going to share 5 fun facts about the studio opening!
1. Before Atlanta Dance Central opened, this location was a nail salon and also a restaurant! Ms. Charlotte custom designed the studio spaces to be the perfect place for Atlanta Dance Central.
2. The grey floor in all of the studios is called “marley.” Over 6000 pounds of marley were delivered to the studio during the build out, and Ms. Charlotte and all of her wonderful volunteers had to unload an install the flooring by themselves.
3. Ms. Charlotte had a lot of helpers during the build out, including families and students of ADC who are still dancing here today! We could not be where we are today without the help of all of the students and families who believed in us, even when the opening of the studio was pushed back by 2 months. If you look closely, the art work on the wall of our front desk is made up of several colorful footprints. These footprints belong to the volunteers who helped us during the build out!
4. “Atlanta Rising Talent,” the student company of ADC was named by 3 of our original students. One of those students is Ms. Caroline, who works at our front desk and as a substitute teacher!
5. If Atlanta Dance Central were a student, it would be our final year in the kinder program. Our first recital only had 1 kinder dance with 5 students in the kinder dance. To help put things into perspective, last year at our 5th recital, we had 2 kinder recitals with a total of 90 kinder performers!
We could not be where we are today without the support of our wonderful clients. We are continuously thankful that you give us the opportunity to do what we love and share our passion for dance with all of the students here at ADC. Thank you for helping us celebrate 5 amazing years. We look forward to many more!
