Atlanta Summer Intensive Auditions

/ by admin / Leave a Comment

balletphotoIf you are anything like us here at ADC, you are already making your summer plans.  Summer Intensives are a great way for dancers to continue their education during the “off season,” learn from different teachers, and take their dancing to the next level.  There are several summer intensives around the Atlanta area, and all over the nation.  Many programs require an audition, and these auditions start as early as, well, now!

 -Alonzo King Lines Ballet

Audition is 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Other auditions coming through the Atlanta area include Houston Ballet, Interlochen Center for the Arts, Pacific Northwest Ballet School, Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet, and Leon Dance Arts.

Many companies such as Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Broadway Theater Project, Rockette's Summer Intensive, and many more allow you to audition via a video submission, but due dates are creepy up quickly!

Attending summer intensive auditions builds audition experience, and allows dancers to essentially take masterclasses from professionals all around the nation.  Simply getting accepted helps build a dancer's resume.  Even if students are not selected to attend the summer intensive, they get a taste of what that intensive has to offer and if they would want to study with that program in the future.  So get out there, get auditioning, and if you need any help, just ask your dance teacher!
